General Information Regarding Overnight Visits

Thank you kindly for your interest in serving JESUS here at We Will Go! We are excited to walk with you in coordinating your visit, as well as praying for all the Lord wants to do in and through you during this experience. We have outlined some basic information below to get you started in the planning process.

During your visit, you / your team will receive the opportunity to ‘do life’ with each missionary as we hold out the word of life in Jackson.

Here at WWG, our mission is to practically demonstrate the love of Jesus to all individuals the Lord has called us to live amongst as well as to serve alongside. We invite you and your team to contribute to as well as experience what Jesus is doing in Jackson. This will involve participation in:

Weekly Ministry Activities. These occur both on and off our three WWG ministry bases. On base, this includes our Hands & Feet clothing closet, canned goods ministry, men and women’s discipleship, community garden, and outreach at our ‘Jesus community center’ entitled The Fountain on Farish.

Off base, we facilitate a weekly ministry outreach to neighbors in the homeless community as well as Bible studies on location at other ministries and programs. Please feel free to view detailed information on our different Ministry Areas, in addition to our weekly schedule, to become familiar with the activities you will be invited to participate in during your stay.

Volunteer Workday. Each Saturday our missionaries join with teams of volunteers from all over the world to work on a variety of projects associated with our various WWG ministry areas on each of our bases. This many include sorting through donations and hanging clothes in the clothing shop, stocking shelves in our food pantry, cutting grass/landscaping, or playing basketball with a teenager at The Fountain. It is helpful to bring relevant work clothes in order to fully participate in this weekly opportunity.

Sunday Church Service. This is one of the fullest and most fun days we get to live out here in Jackson. Our ‘open air’ pavilion hosts dozens of neighbors and volunteers each Sunday at 3pm as we gather together for church; worshipping the Lord and learning about His word. The service concludes with a community meal in which all attendees, despite demographic, ethnicity, race, culture, etc., sit down together to partake in dinner with one another.

Additionally, we would like to introduce you to our discipleship work skills training opportunity, We Will Go Arts, a ministry of WWG using hand-crafted techniques, re-purposed wood and eye for beauty to obey Jesus by making disciples. Each week, our staff diligently raise up disciples of Jesus while manufacturing beautiful pieces of art in our woodshop on Farish street. Our products are also available online at our Etsy store.

As part of this ministry, Jesus has allowed us the opportunity to open and run The Urban 'Sip, a coffee shop open daily to the public during the weekday in which members of the community, local universities, missionaries, and visitors such as yourself can meet with the Lord and enjoy on another’s company over a coffee drink. The Urban Sip also serves as Jackson’s main retail shop for WWG Arts products.

Logistics involved with your overnight visit:

Housing

For Individuals & Groups: We have two amazing bunkhouses — fully restored row houses in the Historic Farish District. They were once places of darkness, where sin, depression, and hate ruled. Now they are places of light where community, love, kindness, and generosity reign. Our male bunkhouse, Freedom House, sleeps 18 and the female bunkhouse, Victory House, sleeps 20. Jesus has also supplied us with a smaller bunkhouse, Promise House, which sleeps up to 12 visitors to assist in accommodating larger groups.

For Families: The Lord has blessed with the privilege of restoring four beautiful cottages, also in the Farish District. Just as the Lord can transform the darkest parts of any of our hearts into full restoration and wholeness, these cottages have been renovated; representing what it is that the Lord does for us when we say yes to HIM. We are delighted to accommodate visiting families in our Power, Fire, or Life Houses.

For bunkhouse housing, we request that you bring your own sheets / blankets to fit twin size beds. For cottage housing, please coordinate your linen needs with our hospitality team at visitus@wewillgo.org. For all housing, we request you bring any pillows, towels, or toiletries you may need. Feel free to contact hospitality if this is not possible and we are happy to arrange another plan with you and or your group.

Expenses

Meals

All meal and food expenses are left up to the leadership of the visiting team or individual. While we offer a community setting during your visit, WWG does not provide community or group meals with the exception of our Sunday dinner after church. As a result, we are more than happy to assist you in making a grocery stop(s), or you are also welcome to bring your own food. Each housing unit includes a fully stocked kitchen for meal preparation.

Accommodation

We Will Go is a “faith only” ministry, entirely dependent upon the generosity and responsiveness of the Lord’s people to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. While there is no direct charge for your accommodation with us or our ministry to you, we ask that you remain sensitive to the many expenses related to your visit. These include housing upkeep, utilities, transportation, ministry projects, etc. As a result, our suggested donation rate is $15 per adult per evening and $10 per child.

We never want funds to be a distraction or hinder someone from coming to stay and/or serve at WWG. We trust our Lord and Savior to speak to hearts and provide - HE is faithful!

Finally, we ask that each person planning to stay overnight complete a visitation application. These provide our staff with information about you / your team as well as specific ways to be praying as your visit approaches. These will need to be processed prior to booking your visit. As a result, feel free to submit the applications either by mail (WWG Ministries, 799 North Congress St. Jackson, MS 39202) or by scanning and emailing back to visitus@wewillgo.org.

We are excited to assist you in preparing for your upcoming with us! ALL are welcome to come and serve JESUS here! Please do not hesitate to contact hospitality via email (visitus@wewillgo.org) or phone (601.826.6227) with any upcoming questions.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
